Karen was born in Tijuana, Baja California. Her family immigrated to the United States when she was 4 years old. She graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors in Philosophy, and then she enrolled in the ABA Approved Paralegal Program at UC San Diego Extension, from which she graduated with honors and became a member of the LEX Honor Society. Growing up she saw her parents struggle to become U.S. Citizens in order to give her and her siblings the opportunity of a better life. This inspired her to pursue a career in immigration law with the intent of facilitating this process for those families who want the best for their children. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and dancing ballet folklórico. Karen is a paralegal/legal assistant at Amezola Legal Group, APC.
